But first, let’s talk about holiday cards! Have you ordered yours yet?
I’ve been on the hunt for pretty Christmas cards since late October. This year, I purchased our cards through Minted.
You’ve already heard me rave about their artwork, but I’ve also been blown away by Minted’s holiday cards. With gorgeous new collections and full customization options, Minted gives you all the tools you need to create an amazing, high-quality photo card.
They’ll even give you the option to have THEM address your envelopes so you don’t have to.
O.K., back to the order of business…
One of the things I look forward to each Christmas season is the daily arrival of holiday cards from friends and family. As the official household card maker, I understand firsthand the time, energy, and thought that goes into creating these cards each year. So I do my best to carve out a prominent place in my home to display the cards for everyone to enjoy throughout the holiday season.
Each year, I try to come up with a new and creative way to display holiday cards that ALSO serves as a festive addition to the holiday decor. Last year, I hung holiday cards them vertically on doors located in our foyer by attaching them to long pieces of holiday ribbon that I attached to the door on the reverse side via duct tape (fancy, I know, but it worked).
Now that I’ve purchased this year’s holiday card, I’m on the hunt for creative ideas to display our holiday cards in style this year. I’ve pulled together a collection of great examples from around the web (both DIY and ready-made products!) in order to stir up a little inspiration. I thought you might enjoy these ideas as well.

REPURPOSED SHUTTER CARD DISPLAY
Courtney from A Diamond in the Rough shows us how to Repurpose an old shutter to create a cardholder by tucking your cards in between the slats.
Not only is this option fantastic for holiday cards — you can use it year-round to organize bills, coupons, & invitations!
CLOTHESPIN WREATH CARD DISPLAY
I stumbled across this tutorial for creating a card wreath over at Gwenny Penny and thought it was pure genius!
Just use a wire clothes hanger and some beads to form the wreath foundation, and clothespins to attach cards to the wreath. So simple, yet SO festive!
HOLIDAY LADDER CARD DISPLAY
Would you ever have thought to create a holiday ladder for displaying cards, ornaments (and even stockings)? Brilliant use of vertical space!
See the simple tutorial at Tater Tots & Jello to learn how to pull this off.
FRAMED CHICKEN WIRE CARD DISPLAY
When I came across this farmhouse-style DIY card display tutorial by the girls at Lolly Jane, it was love at first sight. The addition of the boxwood wreath makes this card display sheer perfection.
EASY HOLIDAY RIBBON DISPLAY
Over on the Thrifty Decor Chic, I spotted this simple DIY card display that was created by hanging cards vertically on a door using pretty holiday ribbon (hmmm…that looks familiar).
I love the way she crissed-crossed the ribbon to simulate the look of gift wrap on the door. Clever!
CARD GARLAND DISPLAY
How awesome is this card garland display by Tessa at Nine & Sixteen Home?
Depending on the number of cards you receive, you could repeat this display in several doorways throughout your home. A garland card display would work well along a stairway banister too!
WASHI TAPE CARD DISPLAY TREE
Why not use colorful washi tape to create this DIY card display tree on an otherwise empty wall, like Dani at Thyme is Honey did?
This will CERTAINLY be a conversation-starter at your holiday gatherings.
