Get inspired to live with less – print and display these decluttering quotes to get you started.
I’m a sucker for a great inspirational quote.
When the going gets tough, reading just the right quote can really help light a fire in my belly to forge ahead on a project/goal that’s important to me. And I KNOW that staying the course when it comes to your organizing and decluttering goals can be TOUGH.
So as we close out Get Organized Month, I wanted to leave you with a little something to help you get inspired when your motivation to declutter begins to wane over these next few months.

1. LESS IS THE NEW MORE
Living with less is all the rage these days. Just look at the capsule wardrobe trend!
2. DESIGN YOUR SPACE FOR THE PERSON YOU ARE BECOMING
Marie Kondo is the author of the wildly popular book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. While I may not agree with all aspects of her philosophy on decluttering, this is one statement I wholeheartedly endorse.
3. LATER IS THE BEST FRIEND OF CLUTTER
My favorite of all the declutter quotes. Postponed decisions lead to piles of clutter.
Make those decisions NOW, not later.
4. YOUR HOME IS A LIVING SPACE, NOT A STORAGE SPACE
Enough said.
5. OUTER ORDER CONTRIBUTES TO INNER CALM
According to Gretchen Ruben, A clean desk surface, cleared kitchen countertops and a tidied up living room help to reduce anxiety and think more clearly. Don’t you agree?
6. THE QUESTION OF HOW YOU WANT TO LIVE YOUR LIFE
When it comes down to whether or not to keep an item, ask yourself whether the item contributes to your vision of an organized life? If not, out it goes.
These declutter quotes really do give you a different perspective on the whole idea of letting go, striving for simplicity, and opening up space for possibilities, don’t you think?
Which one resonates with YOU the most?

“Your home is a living space not a storage space” is the best! I think you can have so much more life with less.
Natalie Gallagher says
Absolutely Janet!
Janet Barclay says
I like all of these but my favourite is #3. I’ve often said that “for now” is one of the deadliest phrases in the English language, because when you put something where it doesn’t belong, it’s going to stay there longer than you planned. And when you choose a home or other major purchase that’s not really what you want with the intention of replacing it soon, that often doesn’t happen either.
Natalie Gallagher says
Yes, couldn’t agree more Janet!
Kimm at Reinvented says
Those are clever and in my case much needed.
