This post is brought to you in partnership with Sortly. Although I received compensation and a complimentary subscription to the Sortly Plus app, my (very!) favorable opinion of this app is 100% my own. I’m just coming off an epic organizing high, as I FINALLY tackled one of the many projects that has been on my long-term Organizing To Do list — my husband’s sports memorabilia collection! Honestly, I’ve been dreading this project, because I thought it was going to be tres time-consuming and difficult. But this project turned out to be one of those scenarios where using the… Read More
Welcome to week 1 of the Digital Photo Organizing Challenge! Ready to get started? Today, I’m so excited to introduce the concept of a digital photo hub, which is really the foundation of an organized digital photo collection. When faced with the daunting task of organizing a mess of digital photos, you’ve probably asked yourself, “how do I start?”. In fact, not knowing where to start has likely caused you to throw your hands up in frustration and walk away from the task altogether. This week, we’ll start the journey to organized photos by rounding up all of your… Read More

So it’s mid-September and I’m gearing up to complete my semi-annual master closet organization session….you know, the one you do each spring and fall when it’s time to switch out your wardrobe in preparation for the change of season. Each time I tackle this home organization project, I find myself thinking the same thoughts: I have sooooo many clothes, so why does it always take me so long to put an outfit together? And why does it feel like I have nothing to wear? Perhaps you’ve asked yourself… Read More
Two years ago this very month, I created a 10 week Digital Photo Organizing Challenge to provide motivation and a blueprint for completing what is typically a daunting organizing project for most of us. For a while now, I’ve wanted to revisit this Challenge series with a fresh eye and make it even more useful. Faces hidden to protect the innocent Remember the whole “low-hanging fruit” concept that I’ve mentioned in previous posts in the No Brainer series? The lowest hanging fruit in photo decluttering is the category of duplicate photos. I immediately remove any duplicates when I encounter them. If you think someone you know would appreciate those duplicates, feel free to pass them on. Or if you want to avoid creating a project for yourself, I give you full permission to place them in the circular file cabinet my friend.
Howdy! Give me a pumpkin spice latte, a warm sweater, and some crisp fall leaves and you’re speaking my love language. I know that I’m not… Read More
